What is Notes?
Notes is yet another program which emulates the "Quick Notes" or "PostIt Notes" or "Sticky Notes". It has been implemented using
wxWidgets. It has a very simple look and feel, and a very intuitive interface.
It is distributed under the liberal GNU GPL version 3. What this means is that you can download and use the full featured Notes program for
FREE. Moreover, if you are interested in the source code, then you can download and modify that as well for free under the terms of
the GNU General Public License v3.
Getting Started
To start using notes, you will have to first download and install it. The easiest way is to download the installer from
here, and install by double-clicking on the installer.
The latest version of Notes is Notes-0.6 and the corresponding installer file name is Notes-0.6-setup.exe. Make sure that you
are not running any older versions of Notes while installing Notes-0.6, and uninstall an older version of Notes if you have it installed.
The installer will create a shortcut to Notes on your desktop. Launch Notes by double-clicking on the Notes shortcut. A taskbar/system-tray
icon with the Notes logo appears at the bottom right corner of your screen. Hover over the icon and right click. This pops out a menu from
where you can start creating new notes.
